Enda Kenny is an Irish-Born songwriter who has made his home in Melbourne, Australia since the late 1980's. His thoughtful, descriptive stories of his adoptive homeland have struck a chord with festival audiences all over Australia and are always memorable and spiced with plenty of humour. Proud to sing of where he lives rather than where he left, he continues to grow his international audience with recent trips to Germany, UK, NZ and Canada.
After a decade of juggling performance with a career in Public Housing, the release of Heart Tattoo allowed a return to full-time music in 2013 and Enda has toured with superb multi-instrumentalist Dave O'Neill since last year. Dave is a former Artistic Director of Australia's National Folk Festival and spent a decade on the road with Eric Bogle Band. From their very first appearance together at Newstead Live Festival it was clear that Kenny & O'Neill have a musical alliance that will continue to amaze and engage every audience they play to. Long time bassist Sandy Brady completes the line up when festival commitments allow.
A multi-award winning songwriter and twice winner of the Port Fairy Folk Festival songwriting award, Enda's recent compositions highlight his quirky sense of humour and add to an already impressive catalogue of songs which led Colum Sands to describe him as "the finest Irish songwriter living overseas".
"I can't tell you how much I enjoyed Enda Kenny's gigs when I worked with him in Australia. His songs are witty and insightful. On smaller stages to intimate audiences or large stages to festival audiences, he always holds the crowd in the palm of his hand. A brilliant night's entertainment". Eleanor McEvoy
